Release notes

Better records.
Every release.

Every release below is described by what actually changes when you're standing at the DZ. The reliability work that nobody sees is listed too — because that's the part protecting your logbook.

v1.3.1 — Nearby dropzone correction

Fixed a stale nearby-dropzone suggestion when renaming a jump’s location. The jump being edited no longer supplies its own old location as a zero-distance match; saved dropzones and other jump locations remain available.

v1.3 — Faster sign-off and smarter personal trendsPrevious release

Adds faster in-person QR sign-off, nearby dropzone suggestions and deeper Personal Trends while preserving the Watch-first tracking flow.

On jump daySign one jump or a selected group in person, spend less time searching for the right dropzone after landing, and get clearer context from the records already in your logbook.
  • Added a reusable Signing Identity QR for quicker in-person sign-off from a single unsigned jump or the selected-jump flow.
  • Added explicit signer-present confirmation plus a short-lived request-and-response QR option for signer-authored comments.
  • Improved camera guidance, QR validation, retry handling and save-result feedback.
  • Added optional nearby suggestions from saved or previously used dropzones near a recorded landing location; BreakOff never changes the selected dropzone automatically.
  • Added on-device Personal Trends for dropzones, canopies, owned-versus-rental gear, heart rate and canopy wind.
  • Added clear confidence and insufficient-data labels so early or limited trends are not overstated.

v1.2.1 — Privacy-safe Meta campaign measurement

Adds deliberately selected Meta App Events so BreakOff can understand the app-install and subscription funnel without sending jump-day records to Meta.

What changesCampaign reporting can distinguish installs, checkout attempts, eligible trials and verified new paid subscriptions while the logbook remains outside this integration.
  • Added official Meta iOS SDK / Meta App Events reporting for app installations and activations, subscription checkout attempts, eligible trial starts and verified new immediately paid subscriptions.
  • Beginning with Build 128, BreakOff requests ATT permission and enables Meta advertiser-ID measurement only after authorization. Automatic StoreKit purchase logging and Facebook Login remain disabled.
  • Restores, entitlement refreshes, renewals, reinstalls and Family Sharing are not counted as new subscription acquisitions.
  • Jump logs, GPS tracks, altitude samples, HealthKit data, gear records, contacts, notes, media and full iCloud backup contents are not sent to Meta.

v1.2 — A redesigned BreakOff and a deeper post-jump cockpit

The largest BreakOff update so far: a new visual system, faster ways through a serious logbook and richer tools for understanding each jump.

What you feelLess digging, better context and a clearer picture of your progression — with stronger data-integrity work beneath the new interface.
  • Completely redesigned iPhone Home, Logbook, Stats, Gear and navigation.
  • Added lifetime and in-app totals, six-month activity, freefall progression, latest-jump context, currency and service alerts.
  • Added month, year and all-years logbook navigation with deep search and exact lifetime numbering.
  • Added post-jump canopy-opening analytics: opening start, under-canopy point, altitude loss, duration, average rate and confidence where the data supports it.
  • Added structured lineset history, date-aware counts and clearer active-rig context.
  • Added scoped PDF/CSV export by selection, month, year or full logbook, with improved PDF readability.
  • Added a local dropzone library plus confirmation-first off-landing, emergency and DZ-contact shortcuts on Watch. These never trigger automatically or during an active phase.
  • Improved GPS map reliability states, Watch-to-iPhone transfer, backup, restore, CloudKit reconciliation and duplicate protection.

v1.1.2 — Stability and sync hardening

Focused on the reliability layer that protects your logbook as BreakOff grows.

On jump dayA completed jump is less likely to get stuck, corrupted or blocked while moving from Watch to iPhone.
  • Safer Watch-to-iPhone sync payloads with invalid-number protection.
  • Adaptive GPS sampling for WatchConnectivity transfers, while keeping full GPS data in the iPhone logbook.
  • More defensive backup, restore, import and export paths for legacy edge cases.
  • Better handling for profile edits, gear context sync and Apple Watch workout finishing.

9 July 2026

v1.1.1 — Free trial clarity and launch reliability

Made the subscription flow clearer and reduced startup and sync pressure.

What you feelThe app starts more calmly, restores more reliably and makes the trial terms easier to understand.
  • Added clear 1-week free trial wording and Start Free Trial purchase copy where StoreKit reports an introductory offer.
  • Improved Watch logbook restore after app delete or reinstall.
  • Reduced launch and resume pressure for larger logbooks and iCloud restore scenarios.
  • Kept Watch gear context immediate while deferring heavier full-logbook snapshot work.

23 June – 4 July 2026

v1.1 — Better Watch flow, logbook tools and GPS recovery

Moved BreakOff from a launch build toward a sharper field-use app.

What you feelLess hunting through the logbook, faster Watch access and a better chance of recovering a useful GPS track.
  • Added logbook search, quick filters, dropzone suggestion chips and selected-jump bulk metadata editing.
  • Added one-tap Watch complication support and manual Wind Brief access from Watch screens.
  • Improved Watch GPS buffering for freefall track recovery.
  • Added Firebase and Google Ads conversion measurement for app growth, without changing logbook storage.

15–16 June 2026

v1.0.2 — Watch sensor readiness and landing detection

Improved how the Watch handles real sensor behaviour.

On jump dayBreakOff waits for real sensor data, and is better at recognising when canopy flight has actually ended.
  • Added explicit altimeter readiness states instead of treating every zero reading as valid.
  • Prevented stale altitude from feeding automatic phase detection.
  • Improved landing detection using post-canopy stability, instead of assuming a perfect return to calibrated 0 ft.

11–13 June 2026

v1.0.1 — Early App Store feedback fixes

Cleaned up the first-user experience after the live launch.

What you feelFirst-time users can test a complete tracked jump before paying, with cleaner units, sharing and gear behaviour.
  • New users can complete onboarding and save their first complete Apple Watch-tracked jump before subscribing.
  • Added offer-code redemption and hardened Pro entitlement restore handling.
  • Fixed Share Jump map exports, Save to Photos permission handling and clearer feet/metres selection.
  • Improved active gear deletion sync, landing-name sync and Own Gear / Rental wording.

7 June 2026

v1.0 — Public App Store release

The first public BreakOff: Watch-first jump tracking, automatic phase detection and the iPhone logbook.

The redesign is a milestone, not a finish line.

BreakOff is actively developed from dropzone use, tester reports and feature requests. Send the problem, not just the feature idea — that's what makes it better faster.
